Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong has hailed Ghana defenders for their smartness in marking out striker, Victor Osimhen.
The 23-year-old however failed to shine with Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku putting him at bay.
Troost-Ekong admits the Ghana defence were just smart on the day.
“But I think that everyone was quite scared of Victor [Osimhen]. “There were two against one most of the time.
“But we’ve learnt from today and we will try to exploit the defence in a different way.
“We must be clinical and against a good team like Ghana, you might get two or three good chances and you have to score otherwise you can’t win a game against them.” William Troost-Ekong said.
The return leg will be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Tuesday, March 29 with the winner of the two ties qualifying for the global tournament in Qatar.
