Emmanuel Tagoe will return to the ring on Saturday, April 9 against Ryan Garcia in a non-title Lightweight contest in Alamodome, San Antonio, USA.
Tagoe, (32-1, 15 KOs), commonly known as the “Game Boy” is fighting for the first time since November 2020 when he defeated Mason Menard, over a Majority Decision (MD) in ten rounds at the Rock Hotel and Casino in the USA.
Garcia, (21-0, 18 KOs) on the other hand last fought 15 months ago – stopping former Olympic Champion, Luke Campbell in the seventh round.
The 23-year-old Californian took some time off to take care of his mental health plus a further hand injury delaying his return.
That notwithstanding, Garcia convincingly stopped Campbell and will now take a shot at Tagoe, 33 who has just a loss on his record from professional debut.
The winner of this bout stands a chance of facing undisputed champion, George Kambosos or one of the other top lightweights next.
