2021 Africa Cup of Nations winner, Sadio Mané defied the pangs of hunger in the Ramadan fast to score twice in Liverpool’s win over Manchester City.

The Reds beat the Cityzens 3-2 in the semi finals of the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday with the World Cup bound displaying a supersonic performance.

Liverpool took the lead under ten minutes when France defender, Ibrahima Konate headed home from Andrew Robertson’s corner kick.

Eight minutes after Ibrahima Konate’s opener, Senegal international, Sadio Mané took advantage of City goal goalkeeper, Zack Steffen’s delay to push home for a 2-0 lead.

Just on the half time mark, Sadio Mané found Liverpool’s third with the outside of his right foot with a Thiago Alcantara assist, leaving City manager, Pep Guardiola asking questions about his tactics.

The 19 time Premier League holders held on to the 3-0 lead moving into the break.

Back from recess, City pulled a goal back from Jack Grealish on the 47th minute having been assisted by Brazil forward, Gabriel Jesus.

Liverpool still sat on jagged edge despite the lead and the moment was made more pensive when Bernardo Silva pulled City’s second goal in additional time to make it 3-2 but Liverpool qualify for the finals in the end.

It is a first FA Cup final for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool keep alive their hopes of an unprecedented quadruple.

Sadio Mané, 30, saw 85 minutes of action after his place was taken by Portugal forward, Diogo Jota.
