Real Tamale United posted a heart warming result in week 25 against league leaders, Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The “Pride of the North” put two goals past the Porcupine Warriors before the record title holders pulled one back through Franck Mbella from the penalty spot in the second half.
RTU captain, Yussif Nurudeen, who was adjudged the MVP of the game believes the win will boost their confidence ahead of subsequent games.
“The motivation just came from our fans and technical team and also considering our position is not that quite good so we had to put maximum best to get the three points.
“It [win over Kotoko] means a lot to us because from now of you want to look at the table, you will know that it will project us to a comfortable place than before.
“And still we have to keep on working on it,” Yusif Nurudeen told StarTimes.
“I think I have to still keep on working harder than we are doing and then Insha Allah we will still move ahead.” He added.
RTU sit 15th on 28 points from 25 games with a week 26 fixture away to bottom placed Elmina Sharks next on their agenda.
