Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan has openly declared his love for record Ghana Premier League holders, Asante Kotoko.
The 36-year-old is currently unattached after leaving Ghana Premier League side and his 11th club, Legon Cities FC.
A career spanning almost two decades saw him play in Italy, France, England, UAE, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and India after leaving Ghana side, Liberty Professionals in 2003.
Gyan has struggled to regain form since leaving the Royals but has expressed desire to don the Porcupine colours if he has to play again.
“If I want to play, I want to play locally, Kotoko.
“I’m a huge Kotoko fan, for all these years I was born in Accra and I admired them from afar, some of the players I played with.
“I can never disrespect Accra Hearts of Oak but I’m a Kotoko huge fan.
“It doesn’t mean if I see Accra Hearts I will be.. no no, they are a huge club but I have got my team that I support.” Asamoah Gyan said.
Gyan is the record African top scorer at the FIFA World Cup as well as Ghana’s all time top scorer.
