“No need to press panic button” – Ibrahim Tanko on possible relegation battle

Ghana Premier League new boys, Accra Lions are not lying too good on the 2021/22 league log but that does not scare Sporting Director and ex-Ghana international, Ibrahim Tanko.

Lions are 10th on the table with 33 points after 26 matches – five points above the relegation zone.

Their week 27 opponents are returnees, Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium after suffering a 3-0 derby defeat against defending champions, Hearts of Oak in week 25 in Accra.

Pressure is mounting as they face another strugglers in RTU but Ibrahim Tanko has ruled out any form of fear of sinking into the drop zone.

“No, I think we knew that from the beginning and we have five points from the relegation.

“I mean there is a lot of teams under so I don’t think we have to be panicking.

“We take game after game and we see what will happen at the end of the season.” Ibrahim Tanko told StarTimes.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will have eight games to wrap up after the weekend or week 26 games.
