Asante Kotoko SC head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has defended his squad after their two straight defeats.
The Porcupine Warriors were 2-1 losers against Real Tamale United in week 25 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium before following up with a 3-1 fall to Legon Cities FC in week 26 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The double losses have not sat well with the fans who have been craving for a first title in seven league seasons but Prosper Narteh has called for calm and patience.
“These are the very players who have played up to this level, getting us to where we are now, you don’t blame them too much.
“They’ve done their best on the field today but it wasn’t enough, probably I have to sit them down and find out what the issue it.
“Apart from that I think nobody should cut them into pieces.
“They should keep their heads up and chests out, eight more games to go, we only have to focus and make sure that we win as many games as possible.” Prosper Narteh Ogum told StarTimes.
Asante Kotoko, 24 time champions, sit top of the league table with 52 points from 26 games.
They have eight points ahead of second placed Bechem United who host Karela United in their week 26 game at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Monday.
