Karela United midfielder, Umar Bashiru is in a wonderful form this season, notching assists and goals in the 26 week old league.
The 24-year-old is a mainstay in midfield for the Anyinase based club, scoring nine goals in the process.
He got the opener in Karela United’s 1-1 draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in week 26 against second placed side, Bechem United on Monday.
The former WAFA and Kotoko man spoke after their drawn game.
“It was a difficult game for us, Bechem [United] is a very strong team, no wonder they are the second best team so far in the league.
“So I think a draw for us is good and I want to compliment our team especially they way we worked hard for this point, the players fought very hard,” Umar Bashiru said in a post match press conference.
“I think one of the most difficult thing in Ghana football is, it’s always difficult to win away matches.
“So if you go away and you don’t play a good game, you will invite pressure on yourself so that’s one of the things.” He added.
Karela United sit 8th on the league table with 37 points from 26 games.
