Borussia Dortmund legend, Ibrahim Tanko has told Gold Sports that’s his former club will struggle to compete with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund have lost the German Bundesliga title to rivals, Bayern for ten straight years and Ibrahim Tanko says the status-quo will remain for sometime.
“It was like that since the 1990s but, Bayern [Munich] is the dominant force in the [German] Bundesliga.
“Sometimes Dortmund will try to come, sometimes Wolfsburg and [Bayer] Leverkusen sometimes.
“But I mean when you look at the last ten years, definitely they [Bayern] have the best materials to win the league.
“So it’s going to be a very tough task for other teams to catch them but definitely one day one day they [other teams] will get there.” Ibrahim Tanko told Gold Sports.
The ex-Black Stars striker won two Bundesliga titles in the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons and the UEFA Champions League with the Black and Yellows in 1997.
He has previously managed Freiburg, FC Köln, Urawa Red Diamonds and the Cameroon national team in assistant capacity.
He was assistant with the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars and later handled the Olympic team.
