Ghana defender, Kasim Nuhu has attributed injuries to his unsteady outing in Europe.
The 27-year-old central defender has grappled with injuries, hampering his chances of playing regular club football in the past few years.
His return to the Swiss Super League with FC Basel has given him a lifeline – making two full time appearances in the EUROPA Conference League this season.
“Me I will say first of all injuries, I was injured for sometime and things were not the way I wanted from the last season.
The former Medeama SC defender is not part of coach Otto Addo’s squad for Ghana’s three pre-World Cup friendlies against Brazil, Nicaragua and Switzerland despite his fine form in the Swiss Super League.
He is however throwing his support for the Black Stars ahead of the World Cup.
“But we are in contact with the coaches and stuff and I keep supporting the team and this is the most important thing first of all.
“Because if I’m injured I cannot play, somebody has to play and of course I’m working so hard to be back in the team.” Kassim Nuhu told Radio Gold Talk Sport.
Kasim Nuhu has previously played for German clubs, Fortuna Düsseldorf and TSG Hoffenheim after spells at RCD Mallorca of Spain and BSC Young Boys.
He has made six appearances in the Swiss Super League this season for FC Basel.
