Asante Kotoko head coach, Seydou Zerbo has alleged that, threat from fans against referee Amadu Ibrahim caused their defeat against Aduana Fc.
The Porcupine Warriors were bundled of the MTN FA Cup in round 16 following 1-0 loss at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday February 26,2023.
A Sam Adams expertly taken penalty on the 59th minutes after Mohammed Alhassan brought down Isaac Mintah in the area, sent Aduana into the quarter final.
The penalty awarded to the “Ogya Boys” left Kotoko’s Burkina Faso coach, Seydou Zerbo disappointed.
“Yes we were defeated but the referee won the match for Aduana Fc.
“I’m not somebody who talks too much about referees but the way they threatened the referee in the half time, that’s why the referee changed his mind.
“About goalk scoring, we couldn’t score a goal, it’s a deficiency which we are facing in the team now and we are going to rectify it.” Seydou Zerbo told StarTimes as interpreted by assistant, Orlando Wellington.
The Porcupine Warriors trail Aduana by seven points on the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League table and could go trophiless should they fail to defend the league title.
