Former Real Tamale United midfielder, David Abagna Sandan was on the score sheet for the first time for Sudanese champions, Al Hilal Omdurman in their 2-0 group B win over Coton Sport de Garoua on Tuesday.
Abagna Sandan struck on the 41ST minute of the 2022/23 CAF Champions’ League group stage victory at their home ground.
Al Hilal doubled their lead when Makabi Lilepo scored from the penalty spot with seven minutes to end the entire proceedings.
David Abagna Sandan has made four appearances so far in the CAF Champions League and has scored just once this term in all competition.
Al Hilal per the victory over Coton Sport are first in group B with nine points from four games while South Africa powerhouse, Mamelodi Sundowns sit second on seven points from three games.
Al Ahly of Egypt are third on four points and Coton Sport are yet to pick any point after four games.
David Abagna Sandan has previously played for the defunct Wa All Stars and AshantiGold before switching to RTU.
The 24-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Crescent from the Ghana Premier League side for a fee reported to be around US$200,000.
