Former World Lightweight title holder, Richard Commey has set sight on becoming a two time global champion in the sport.
Commey, 36, mounts the ring on Saturday, March 25 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California against American, Jose Ramirez as both pugilists look to improve their ranking at the Super Lightweight Division.
Ramirez, 31, last had a unanimous decision win over Jose Pedraza in March 2022.
Commey’s most recent appearance in the ring was a draw – also against Pedraza – last August.
“He [Jose Ramirez] has got some fire back in him and with what he has got, he want really come back into the spotlight again so he has got everything same as me.
“I really want to be a two time World Champion and I’m coming, I’m coming to work.” Richard Commey at a pre-fight press conference
Jose Ramirez comes into the bout with a record of 27-1 (17 KOs) while Commey’s record stands 30-4-1 (27 KOs)
