Head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Hughton, says the national team will miss the players who have picked up injuries but remains confident of the team’s chances against Angola.
In a statement ahead of the game, Hughton acknowledged the absence of the injured players but emphasized that they have a deep enough squad to cope with the situation.
This positive outlook from the coach is likely to inspire the remaining players to step up their game and give their best performance on the pitch.
The Black Stars will face the Palancas Negras in Luanda for the second leg after posting a 1-0 win the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Chris Hughton said: “Their absence is a loss to the team because they are not only players in the squad but they are players who have been around and been part of the squad for a while,” he said.
“But this is International football and this is why you have a squad prepared and always if its starters like in particular Denis Odoi and Alexander Djiku – both started then this is where you have a squad and it’s always an opportunity for somebody else.” Chris Hughton said.
