The former AS Roma forward joined the fray on the 67th minute for Daniel Ciofani but could not save his side from the claws of defeat.
Striker, Arthur Cabral struck Fiorentina’s opener on the 20th minutes before Nicolas Gonzalez found the second from the spot with 75 minutes played.
The 20-year-old whose market value is pegged at 5.5 million Euros, has made 16 Serie A appearance with one assist to his name.
He has played four games in the Coppa Italia this term for the bottom placed club.
Afena Gyan recently turned down the opportunity to play the 2023 AFCON U-23 qualifiers against Algeria where Ghana went ahead to eliminate the North Africans.
