Ghana defender, Patrick Kpozo has revealed that a conversation with former Sheriff Tiraspol teammate, Basit Abdul Khalid convinced him to join the club.
Kpozo signed for Sheriff Tiraspol in 2022 after spending three seasons at Swedish top flight side, Ostersunds FK.
The 25-year-old confirms having a chat with the now North Macedonia based striker, Khalid Abdul Basit before switching to Moldova.
Kpozo, who had his first national team call up under Chis Hughton spoke on GhanaWeb’s Sports Check.
“I had a conversation with another player which is Basit[Abdul Khalid],the striker and he spoke good about the club to me.
“And he also influenced me to come to Sherfif actually.” Patrick Kpozo told GhanaWeb’s Sports Check.
Kpozo spent a year-and-a-half at Ghanaian club, Inter Allies before being snapped up by AIK Stockholm of Sweden.
He has had loan stints at Tromsoe and IFK Lulea in between a permanent move to Oestersunds FK.
He was a member of Ghana’s U-20 squad that played at the 2015 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.
