Former Ghana goalkeeper, Stephen Ahorlu says he started as a left back player before switching to the post.
Ahorlu, who formerly played for premier league returnees Hearts of Lions, was a member of the Black Stars squad that finished at the quarter final in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
He spoke to Radio Gold Sports. “I started as a left back player and you know those days if children are playing football, the oldest among them is made to keep and so in our area in Madina, we go to play those games and I will be in the post.
“That started and be before I knew I started keeping.” Stephen Ahorlu told Radio Gold Sports.
Stephen Ahorlu after his retirement from football became the goalkeepers’ trainer of Hearts of Lions which he guided to their premier league return.
The 34-year-old previously played for Medeama SC upon return from Israeli club, Hapoel Ashkelon.
Prior to his first premier league experience with Hearts of Lions, he played for Togo Premier League club, Dynamic Togolais also known as Dyto fc.
