Ex-Ghana international, Mohammed Gargo says Ghanaians should hasten slowly in hyping leading Ghana Premier League scorer, Abednego Tetteh.
His comments come following the call for Gold Stars’ Abednego Tetteh inclusion into the Black Stars squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar this month.
Tetteh has scored 16 goals in 27 BetPawa Premier League games more than all the four strikers, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams and Kwasi Okyere-Wriedt who have been invited by head coach, Chris Hughton.
Mohamed Gargo spoke to Radio Gold Sports: “They [Ghana coaches] should call him but gradually they should put him there.
“They shouldn’t call him and expect him to push away somebody who has it all, play in Europe for him to leave and give Abednego the chance.
“You know we overhype our boys sometimes too much. It’s good if they are going to call him but he should come and start learning from there.
“He shouldn’t come for people to start thinking especially when the Black Stars are playing and things are not going well, Abednego, Abednego, it will not help us.
“The local ones are not yet there at all.” Mohammed Gargo told Radio Gold Sports.
The Black Stars will play away to Madagascar in the penultimate qualifier in Antananarivo on June 18.
