Assistant coach of Ghana’s U-23 team, Godwin Attram has been speaking about their chances in the upcoming AFCON tournament this month.
The Black Meteors are currently in Cairo to continue preparations ahead of the tournament in Morocco.
“We are going to work accordingly, seriously, mentally with the players.
“We are going to impact so many things in them so that they know what is at stake. It’s not a joke but we must go there and qualify the country to France [for the 2024 Olympic Games].” Godwin Attram told Radio Gold Sports.
Ghana is chasing one of the tickets for the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
The team will play a couple of friendlies before travelling to Morocco, where the tournament will start from June 24.
Ghana is paired in group A against hosts, Morocco, Congo and Guinea
Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer and Ernest Nuamah will join the team after participating in the AFCON qualifier between Ghana and Madagascar.
The Black Meteors last played at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 and a top three finish will take the team to Paris.
