Former Hearts of Oak defender, Ibrahim Larry Sumaila has named the club’s former coach, Kim Grant as his best manager.
Sumaila enjoyed three seasons with the Phobians – winning a domestic treble under coach Samuel Boadu in 2021 and another FA Cup the following season.
The 28-year-old made the revelation in an interview with Accra based Radio Station, Radio Gold.
“My best coach was Kim Grant, very much on top of his game. All the coaches were on top of their game but with Kim Grant, super coach.
“Kim Grant came to the club, saw me playing at Inter Allies, then we were three trial players playing.
“Then we were playing against Inter Allies, it was 11th November, the club’s birthday so we were playing a ceremonial match for the team.
“We lost 2-1 and then we came in the second half, Kim Grant saw me and he asked who is this guy and they gave him details about me.
“So after that, he told all the trialists to stay away from the club apart from me because he wants to see me for another month.
“So I was with him and he brought the best out of me and everything. I was just flying here and there.
“A very professional coach, on top of his game, time management and everything, just super.” Larry Sumaila told Radio Gold Sports.
Larry Sumaila currently plays for Ghana Premier League club, Samartex.
