Founder and president of Cheetah Football Cub, Abdul Haye Yartey has advised young footballers against the abuse of social media.
Haye Yartey has nurtured several national stars with the biggest among his repertoire being the late former Chelsea winger, Christian Atsu.
The soft spoken football administrator spoke to Radio Gold Sports.
“It is very difficult to take care of the current crop of players because of the mindset.
“And every player because of social media is a star in his own right, one goal, one video and a lot of praises come in and the player already in his mind is a star to himself.
“And as a result of that they will not put in the work and they will want success on a silver platter.
“They feel that I can do it, I need to be in Europe by now, and they don’t work hard so they have weird mentality.
“So another problem is the players themselves.” Abdul Haye Yartey told Radio Gold Sports.
