Veteran Ghana coach, Karim Zito says the two clubs representing the country in continental competition have a lot of work to do.
Medeama, last season’s Ghana Premier League winners are paired against Nigerian club, Remo Stars Sporting Club with Dreams FC who clinched the FA Cup, up against Guinean club, Milo FC in the first preliminary round of the competition.
Karim Zito, who is the current head coach of Dreams fc, spoke Radio Gold Talk Sport.
“When it comes to the name, you might think they are nothing to talk about but in reality, no team that has qualified to this level is an easy team.
“So we both have a lot of work to do because we have to defend the name of Ghana so we have a lot to do to get our set objective.
“So it won’t be easy but with hard work, we might get what we want.
“On the field of play, both of you have the same advantage but you have to work hard, strategize and then go according to plan and you will get what you want.
“It doesn’t matter where you play or how you play it, it is about objectives, we have to work hard in both legs.” Karim Zito told Radio Gold Sports.
The former Asante Kotoko coach admits that, there will be high expectations from Ghanaians and he remains confident that they will make an impact.
“Expectation will be high, everybody will be expecting us to do something good.
“So we will make sure we will not disgrace Ghanaians, we will also do our best and meet their expectations.” Karim Zito told Radio Gold Sports.
The games will kick off in the weekend of August 18-20 with the reverse fixture taking place a week later.
Medeama will face Guinean club, Horoya Athletic Club if they scale the double leg with Dreams fc coming up against the winner between AS Douanes of Niger and FC Kallon of Sierra Leone.
