Young Ghana coach, Abdul Rahim Bashiru Tijani has joined Hearts of Oak for the 2023/24 BetPawa Premier League season.
Tijani, who has served as assistant at Legon Cities for the past two seasons, will deputize a yet to be name head coach of the club.
Hearts of Oak have already listed the first batch of their technical team for next season’s campaign after missing out of the top four last term – finishing in 12th on 46 points. The Phobians began pre-season at the Kpobiman Academy in Accra on August 1, 2023.
Below is the technical team which Ahmed Tijani will work alongside with a substantive coach yet to be named.
The 42-year-old has a rich experience on the local scene and abroad having served as assistant at clubs like Legon Cities, Great Olympics of Ghana with head coach roles at UniStar Socce Academy and Wassaman United.
He has also had experience as assistant coach of Niger’s U-17 and U-20 national teams plus becoming a head coach at the Ghana National Sports College and Division League club, Windy Professionals in Winneba.
His experience abroad include attachment with Spanish club, Real Zaragoza’s team A and B after the acquisition of his CAF Licence A.
The former student of Odorgonno Secondary School graduated once played juvenile football for the defunct Cowlane Babies, Second Division clubs, FC Santo and FC Khalid before before moving to Togo to play for premier league side, AS Dounanes.
His time outside Africa as a player was a five year stint with Spanish lower tier club, Club Desportivo Estapon.
