Ghana midfielder, Benamin Bernard Boateng has urged head coach of the national team, Chris Hughton to pay attention to players playing the African leagues.
The 22-year-old is a player of Ittihad Alexandria of Egypt after joining them from the then Ghana Premier League side, Elmina Sharks.
He was sent on loan to Smouha SC for the 2022/23 season where he gathered 27 games, scoring seven times in the process.
The lanky attacking midfielder has a contract with Ittihad Alexandria until 2024 and he hopes to replicate the form at his current club.
“I can’t force the national team coach to call me up for assignment but the little I have to say is that, the coaches should consider some us playing in the African leagues.
“Because sometimes the performance of some players playing in Africa is above those playing in Europe.
“So because that player is playing in Europe he will be invited so we are pleading with the Black Stars coach to turn attention to the players playing in the African leagues.” Benamin Bernard Boateng told Radio Gold Sports.
