The Netherlands denied South Africa’s progress into the quarter final of the 2023 FIFA World Cup.
The Dutch defeated the Bayana Bayana 2-0 in the round 16 with goals coming from Jill Roord and Lineth Beerensteyn in the 9th and the 68th minutes respectively.
The Netherlands head coach, Andries Jonker spoke after the game.
“It looks like it was a huge team spirit, fighting attitude, not willing to give up.
“Willing to fight against every opponent but I respect every opponent as it looks but I have no fear.
“And I have a couple of outstanding players.
Jonker had a word for South Africa after their exit from the competition.
“They [South Africa] should keep believing in themselves, African champions outstanding performance here.” Andries Jonker told CentreCircle.online.
