Nigeria broke down in tears after missing out on the quarter final of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to England.
The Super Falcons held their own against England who were reduced to ten after Lauren James was sent off for an off the the ball incident late in the second half.
The entire game ended goalless with the 30 minutes of extra time producing no goals.
England went through to the quarter final on penalties, winning 4-2 to seal their spot in the last eight.
Nigeria join South Africa and Zambia as the eliminated African countries from the World Cup.
Africa’s hope now hinges on debutants, Morocco who play France on Tuesday, August 8 in the round 16.
