Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjei says head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum should be given more time to develop a formidable squad.
Ogum was unveiled by the Porcupine Warrior on Monday, August 7 – his second spell after guiding the side to the domestic top flight title in the 2021/22 season.
Nii Adjei who had a glittering career with the Kumasi based club before stints at Congolese side TP Mazambe, Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and back home in Ghana with Elmina Sharks, spoke to Radio Gold Sports.
”They should get time for coaches, they should not be in a rush for coaches because when a coach comes in he is now coming to build his system for the players to understand so it takes time.
“It takes time for the players to adapt so if a coach comes in and in six months you sack him you are not doing the club any good.
“Sacking coaches in Ghana has been a trend that everybody likes but sometimes it is also bad because it doesn’t help the development of the players and the team.
“We don’t understand that players are now coming to adapt into the coach’s system, the philosophy before they can develop into what you want them to be and then deliver on the field.” Daniel Nii Adjei told Radio Gold Sports.
