Bundesliga 3 side SV Waldhof Mannheim have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian forward Jesaja Hermann from Belgian top-flight outfit K.V. Kortrijk.
The former VfL Wolfsburg youth star, who spent last season on loan at Dutch side NAC Breda, is joining the Carl-Benz-Stadion outfit in an undisclosed period of contract ahead of the upcoming football season.
Right after putting pen to paper on the deal, the 23-year-old forward had this to tell his club’s official website: “I am taking on this task here at SV Waldhof with great anticipation. Here I want to prove my qualities again and help the team to be successful. Now it’s important for me to quickly find a connection to the team.”
Sporting director Tim Schork added over the capturing of his newly-captured frontman: “In Isaiah we have been able to convince a very interesting player. He brings a good combination of athleticism and technique to our team. With his speed, he brings another important component to our strike center, which we hope will give us more offensive flexibility.”
Jesaja, born to former Ghana international Charles Kwablan Akonnor, remains eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany national youth teams.
