Ghana international midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially ended his playing career following an illustrous football career in over a decade.
The attacking midfielder, who last featured for his boyhood club Hertha BSC, took to his official lnstagram page to announce his retirement.
“I love you, but that’s it for me. I thank football for everything.”
Boateng had spells with several clubs including, Hertha Berlin, Tottenham, Dortmund, AC Milan, Barcelona, Fiorentina, Beşiktaş, Schalke 04, AC Monza, Sassuolo, Genoa and Eintracht Frankfurt across Europe before hanging up his boots at age 36.
On the international stage, he has 15 international caps with Ghana after switching allegiance to represent the west African powerhouse in 2010.
He featured in two Fifa World Cups – South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014 – for the Black Stars.
Boateng is now set to take up his managerial coaching role with Hertha Berlin BSC.
