Ghanaian centre-back Samuel Laryea Mensiro has brought his eleven-year stay at Swedish second-tier side Östersunds FK to an end this summer.
The experienced defender, who spent most of his playing career in Swedish football contests, is severing ties with the Jämtkraft Arena outfit on a mutual consent following a long-term dedicated services between both parties.
“Sam Mensiro has been a loyal and important player and profile for ÖFK during his 11 seasons at the club.
Sam has contributed his experience, knowledge and love for the club. Different views on the current situation and future as players in ÖFK have meant that Sam and ÖFK have now agreed that it is best to go their separate ways,” an excerpt of a statement over Mensiro’s departure read.
Having joined Östersunds FK in 2011from English semi-professional league side Evesham United F.C, the 34-year-old would go on to make over 200 appearances for the side in the Swedish football campaigns.
The versatile defender, who can operate across the backlines of the pitch, is yet to earn his international cap with Ghana.
