Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Amoah has completed his move to newly-promoted Portuguese Second division side UD Leiria on a one-year deal this summer.
The former WAFA SC youth product is joining the Liga Portugal 2 side on a free transfer after ending his nine-year stay with top-flight campaigners Vitória Guimarães SC in this ongoing transfer window.
Announcing the signing of the 29-year-old, the Leiria-based club have said via their club’s official website: “The UDL – União de Leiria – Futebol, Sad informs that he has signed with Joseph Amoah for one season.”
“The 29-year-old natural midfielder from Ghana has represented Vitória SC over the past nine seasons. On his resume, he also has a spell at Feyenoord Ac.”
Joseph Amoah expressed his happiness right after putting pen to paper on the deal and has thanked management for the opportunity offered him.
“I am very happy to be here and grateful for the opportunity,” he said.
He is yet to earn his international cap with Ghana at the senior national team level, the Black Stars.
