Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC got their debut CAF Champions League campaign to a respectable start against Remo Stars.
The Mauve and Yellow defeated the Nigeria club by 1-0 at the Cape Coast in the first leg of the preliminary CAF Champions League encounter.
Spokesperson for the club, Patrick Akoto says they expected a bigger score line.
“It is was a win, I mean we were expectant of a big score line but we could manage only a 1-0 win.
“It is a two legged affair and so we are not too bothered, we think that we can also go to Nigeria and cause an upset.
“And so we are ok and there is more room for improvement that obviously we need to look at but the dynamics will be different in Nigeria.” Patrick Akoto told Radio Gold Sports.
The reverse fixture will held at the Ikene Stadium on Sunday, August 27 with the winner going on to face AC Horoya of Guinea in the next stage.
