Former head coach of Asante Kotoko, Charles Akonnor has urged the club to improve in all areas in order to bring back the glory days of the club.
The Porcupine Warriors won the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season under coach Prosper Narteh Ogum who has since returned to the club after departing same year of annexing the trophy.
The record Ghana Premier League holders are in pre-season preparing for the next campaign which starts in September barring any unforeseen hitch at the last minute.
CK Akonnor, a former Black Stars manager handled the club for nine months between October, 2018 to July 2019, and he says the club must fix all rough edges.
“I think they need to look at themselves and see, where are we now and what we have to do to improve the squad and also to improve our game and also be known as it were some years back.
“The likes of Abdul Razak, Papa Arko, I think they won the champions league and this is missing and this is what they need to look at and work on it.” Charles Akonnor told Radio Gold Sports.
Asante Kotoko will open their 2023/24 BetPawa Premier League campaign away to returnees, Hearts of Lions.
