Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Seidu Mutawakilu believes Ghana champions, Medeama SC will have it tough in their second leg game against Nigerian opponent, Remo Stars.
Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC are faced with an arduous task of qualifying for the next round of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.
The Mauve and Yellow managed a slim 1-0 win over Remo Star in the first leg at the Cape Coast Stadium last Sunday.
The return encounter is set for the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikene on Sunday, August 27 and the now Rivers United goalkeeper, says the Ghanaian club will have to play above themselves in the second leg.
“Medeama will not get it easy because you know that Ghana and Nigeria, our style of play is the same and from there we have the bragging right.
“Ghana and Nigeria any time we meet it is tough and everybody will want to win to have the bragging right or the power over the other country.
“So Medeama will not get it easy and you know Africa football is always tough and secondly Medeama need to prepare very well.
“Remo Stars last season played in the CAF Confederation Cup and they are in the CAF Champions League this season.
“So they want to use the experience they got in the Confederation to progress to the group stage because every club in Nigeria which plays in Africa wants to get to the group stage to make money and to market players.
The winner of the two legs will face Guinean powerhouse, Horoya Athletic Club in the next round.
