Everyone with footballers not excepted is a candidate for challenges and tough times in life.
However, if and when angels cloaked in human form come to one’s aid in life, it soothes the pangs of rough times people grapple with.
One player who has had patchy moments in his life and football career is former Hearts of Oak defender, Larry Sumaila.
The right-back endured a torrid time with little to no minutes at the Phobians despite being part of the domestic treble winning squad of the 2020/21 season.
The devout Muslim has opened up some national team players who came to his aid during those trying times.

“I want to thank Mubarak Wakaso, we call him president, he is a president for a reason.
“I want to thank Sulley Muntari, I want thank Abdul Aziz Tetteh and some of the Black Stars players.
“I am with them all the time, training during off season.
“Anytime I’m off season, they just organize, I’m with them always.

“So I just want to say than you to them, I don’t know how to thank them, may Allah bless them.
“I don’t know how to thank them enough but I know being at the top there will make them proud.
“And Insha Allah I will be and everybody is going to be comfortable Insha Allah.
“I know there are some names that I haven’t mentioned but thanks to everyone who is praying for me, who is just contributing everything in my career.
“I know with prayers and everything we shall get there, Insha Allah.” Larry Sumaila told Radio Gold Sports.
Larry Sumaila has also played for Premier League club, Samartex where he is unlikely to continue for next season.
