Former Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says the West African nation can win laurels if the young squad is properly nurtured.
Ghana’s squad comprises a number of young players aged between 19 and 23 with the likes of Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, Jordan Ayew and the others providing experience.
The Black Stars need a draw or a win against Central Africa Republic in the last 2023 AFCON qualifier to book a slot for Ivory Coast next year.
The game comes up at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 7.
Agyemang Badu told Radio Gold Sports: “The most important thing is we need to concentrate on the AFCON qualifier and build a formidable squad that can compete at the world stage.
“The most important thing is we have a promising squad and we just need to build on them, have one or two to come and add up to them.
“Those who are willing to play and those who the coach thinks he needs on board and with this promising squad and the young chaps we have, I think we can go far.” Agyemang Badu told Radio Gold Sports.
Ghana leads group E with 9 points from five games with Central Africa Republic on 7 points.
