Ex-Ghana youth international, Ali Jarrah says the maiden Black Stars invitation of Medeama SC striker, Jonathan Sowah is good for the local game.
Head coach, Chris Hughton named the local boy in his squad for the final 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday, September 7.
Jarrah believes Jonathan Sowah’s inclusion into the national team will encourage the other local players to give off their best at club level.
“Football is played by 11 players with three or four substitution so I advise that at least we have at least five local base or home based players in the Black Stars.
“So that it will encourage the local players that when I do well, I will be with the Black Stars.
“That’s what we must do to encourage the youth so I’m most grateful for the young guy who has been called up to the Black Stars.
“We hope and pray that it continues, his performance will grow after being with the Black Stars.” Ali Jarrah told Radio Gold Sports.
