Ghana legend, Mohammed Polo has urged Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton to empower the young players during the 2023 AFCON.
Chris Hughton has a young squad at his disposal with a chunk of the players averaging 19 and 25 years.
Some of the young players will be making their second AFCON appearance with others debuting in Ivory Coast next year.
“Polo spoke to Radio Gold Sports: “It’s very clear, to add some value to what the have and ask them to do what they are supposed to do.
“They must play football to the admiration of everybody and that is why we were nicknamed the Brazil of Africa.
“They are a new generation so we have to empower them to play well.
“And if I’m the coach that is what I am going to do.” Mohammed Polo told Radio Gold Sports.
Ghana secured their 10th successive AFCON qualification after rallying from a goal down to beat Central Africa Republic 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday September 7.
