Thomas Partey and club manager, Mikel Arteta met last week in which there was an agreement for Arsenal to listen to offers for Ghana midfielder.

Partey has grappled with injuries lately, disrupting his chances of giving his full potential for the success of the record English FA Cup holders.

The 30-year-old injured his groin last month forcing him to miss Arsenal’s dramatic 3-1 Premier League win at home to Manchester United.

The former Atletico Madrid star was left out Ghana’s squad that defeated Central Africa Republic 3-1 in the final AFCON qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium last weekend.

He equally missed the 3-1 win over Liberia in an international friendly in Accra on Tuesday, September 12 where Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew grabbed a goal each.

Partey is eying a quick return to the field by October but his progress will be closely monitored by the Gunners’ medical team.

He is expected to play a key role in Ghana coach, Chris Hughton’s first AFCON experience in Ivory Coast next year.

Offers from Saudi Arabia and Serie A club, Juventus came in for Partey in the last transfer window but a concrete agreement could not be reached with any of the suitors.

He joined Arsenal for £45million in January 2020 – signing a 5-year deal and becoming the most expensive Ghanaian player of all time.

Partey has represented Ghana at three Africa Cup of Nations (2017, 2019, and 2021) and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
