Head coach of Medeama SC, Evans Adotey says young defender, Nurudeen Abdulai was a perfect replacement for the departed Vincent Atinga.
The 19-year-old stepped into the shoes of the experienced Atinga whom left the club after deciding against renewing his contract.
Evans Adotey said: “I said the other time when we met at the pre-match press conference that, I did say that if Vincent Atinga is not there, we need a replacement.
“I am one coach who always wants to create a competition within the team and among the players.
“So if Atinga is gone definitely there is somebody who will step in his shoes and you saw it did happen today.” Evans Adotey said.
The Mauve and Yellow accounted a 3-1 win over Guinea club, Horoya AC in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2023 CAF Champions League.
