Ghana Premier League club, Hearts of Oak were without the services of some players for their opening BetPawa Premier League match against Real Tamale United.
The Phobians lost the season’s first game by 1-0 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium last Friday through a last gasp header by Owusu Afriyie.
The likes of Congolese import, Linda Mtange, Gideon Asante Yeboah, Mitchell Sarpong and Enoch Essubonteng were not part of the match day squad for the record FA Cup holders for match day 1.
Linda Mtange suffered a groin injury but he has resumed training after a thorough physiotherapy reduced the discomfort.
Essubonteng on the other hand had problems with his fingers and is expected to sit out for four weeks, two weeks of active rest with the remaining two being a passive one.
His situation requires intermittent training as it is not so serious of an injury.
Mitchell Sarpong had issues with his abdomen before he was later dealt a hamstring blow. Sarpong is back from the hiccup and currently engaged in mild training with the club’s physiotherapist, Innocent Dzifa.
Apart from the above mentioned players who have begun light work, Gideon Asante Yeboah however has not started training as he continues to recover from his setback.
