Unbearable conditions led me out of Star Madrid – Michael Osei

Bibiani Gold Stars new coach, Michael Osei has revealed what led to his decision to leave Division One League club, Star Madrid fc. Osei joined Star Madrid from now relegated Liberty Professionals on a 3-year deal in 2020 in a bid to qualify them for the top flight.

The club has however not been able to make an important march to finishing respectably in the Division One League talkless of gaining promotion.

The club has equally been plunged into financial chaos following an alleged money fraud leveled against bankroller, Nana Appiah Mensah [NAM 1] who doubles as the owner of Zylofon Media and the defunct MenzGold.

Michael Osei said in a chat with Collins Atta-Poku of Wontumi Radio.

“The way things were unfolding at Star Madrid, I decided that I will leave at the end of the season and return to coach in the Premier League.

“I came to Star Madrid for a purpose but the club could not perform due to the NAM 1 issues.

“It had a lot of effects on the club, I was working without getting any salary and even my pocket money goes into the club.

“Things were getting worse and the players were sacrificing and so the pressure became too much.

“The moment I decided to leave, Bibiani Gold Stars also came in and with the financial strength and good organization, I can work with them.” Michael Osei told Wontumi Sports.

Agyemang Badu at Inter Allies

The 49-year-old has penciled two former Asante Kotoko central defenders, Agyemang Badu and Evans Owusu who went on to play for Inter Allies and Liberty Professionals respectively to augment his set up.

Patrick Akese of Nzema Kotoko, popularly known as “Akese Akese” has been penned down by the ex-Kotoko midfielder.

Osei has served as assistant coach at Asante Kotoko and New Edubiase FC before a regular role at Liberty Professionals.He has been an assistant with Ghana’s U-23 side, the Black Meteors under Ibrahim Tanko.
